![]() ![]() Season 4 promises the culmination of all of Devi's internal exploration, growth, and ambition with a firecracker delivery similar to Devi's own personality. She has moved beyond her season 1 quest of having sex for the first time and attaining love as a result - by season 3, she's focused on making sure she loves herself. Cancers are direly prone to giving other people chances. I don’t even know what to say about this, astrologically. “Did you remind her how hot and irresistible I am?” Vanessa replied to Rae in an attempt at exoneration, comparing their three weeks together to the Amish rite of passage she calls “Rothspringer.” (Actual spelling: Rumspringa.) Maybe Lexi’s Grandpa should have hosted the reunion, like Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. Why must Grandpa be informed about whose fingers were where at what time? Grandpa does not need these details! What the hell! But who knows, Lexi’s dad did practically whip out the popcorn when he was given the rundown on The Ultimatum: Queer Love couple-swap chart. Girl, what?! I'm sorry, I can't focus on anything else when a curveball like that is thrown into the mix. who responded, according to Rae’s recollection, that she doesn't know how she will tell her grandfather about this. After the two hooked up one night, Rae awoke in an agony of guilt and called to confess to Lexi…. Vanessa repeatedly stated to others that she does not find Raelyn romantically or sexually attractive, but persistently pursued Rae in private. This was the only trial marriage of two ultimatum-receivers, and it was quite obviously doomed from the start. Rae chose Vanessa because Vanessa is both hot and universally acknowledged to be the least mature person at the table, which must seem exotically appealing to Rae after three years of coupledom with Boomer-in-the-body-of-a-Gen-Z-babe Capricorn Lexi. I don’t know what his zodiac sign is, but I am riveted. The superstar of this couple was Lexi’s grandpa. Raelyn (Cancer) and Vanessa (Virgo): A Muddy Mess “Ugh, I hate past tense,” Gemini Xander said through tears, realizing there was no point in forcing a hopeful engagement. Xander turned up wearing a sweater that announced the coming breakup before they ever even speak. ![]() When she felt her original partner's interest slipping from her grasp, suddenly Vanessa reversed all of her skepticism about lifelong pledges of fidelity in an effort to secure Xander’s fealty.Īlas, a couple who blazes past this many red flags was not destined for greatness: “This whole experience has been such a mindfuck,” Vanessa exclaimed at the final decision point in the most relatable statement she makes over the entire course of the show. Vanessa valued attention from everyone else in the cast over respect to Xander, until she was surprised by Xander's desire for Yoly. ( See below for Xander’s trial marriage.) Villainous Virgo Vanessa makes a show of her mercurial irresponsibility, behaving as though she perpetually exists in a job interview where she’s explaining her “Biggest Weakness.” Her “carefree” attitude is a posture to evade censure for misbehavior and her, um, creative delivery of facts is a method of controlling others’ perceptions. Gemini are often capital-L Loyal, it’s just that they have the potential to redirect their sense of certainty into different routes! They are adaptable. Upon first introduction, Xander reads almost strangely solid for a Gemini, but you just have to watch a few episodes to see their characteristics revealed. These two are excellent examples of Sun Signs who present in non-stereotypical fashions. Xander wanted to be a parent, and Vanessa wanted to be beholden to no one. Four years into their own relationship, they found themselves bonded in sunk-cost fallacy even as their goals diverged. Xander and Vanessa were together because their respective high school boyfriends were best pals, then five years later Xan and Van re-met at a taco truck. (Just kidding!) Vanessa is a charismatic and beautiful human being, but she - at least at time of filming - appeared to hold very little regard for the concept of other people’s interiority. (Xander says “funky” out loud as slang!) Vanessa is a demon. Xander is a wholesome cartoon dad from the funnies section of a ’90s newspaper who got magically brought to life as a stealth-sexy queer massage therapist in 2023. ![]()
